Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello
The Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has suspended all permanent secretaries, directors of finance and directors of accounts in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.
The governor made the announcement on Monday.
Sources in the state stated the governor’s decision was aimed at “removing dead woods” considered as stumbling block to ensuring accountability and prudent management of public resources.
A few days after his inauguration, Mr. Bello ordered the immediate reinstatement of all local government chairmen sacked in the twilight of the administration of immediate-past governor, Idris Wada.
On November 24, the former governor removed 15 local government chairmen in the state for defecting to All Progressives Congress, APC. More to come…
