The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor Williams F. Kumuyi, has given kudos to President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption and insurgency. He stated they are legitimate and necessary.
Kumuyi, who stated this in Aba, Abia State, at the end of a combined worship service of the church which held at the Abia State Polytechnic playground, Aba, stated although he was a layman where politics is concerned, but “from what one can see, the president is heading in the right direction.” He added that if Nigerians could support the president, the twin problems of corruption and insurgence would be brought down very quickly.
On how the church can help the president and other leaders in the fight against corruption, Kumuyi said: “When we say the church, we are not just talking of buildings; we are talking of people who come to church who also go to offices. And for the church to support, preachers should teach our people to learn how to contribute positively to the progress of the country anywhere they are and so, if you are a governor, commissioner, teacher, minister and among others, be your best for the country.”
He admonished people not to only think of what they can get out of the place they were working, but how they could contribute to the place in order to support the efforts of the government.
