The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Kwara State Governor and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Abdulfatah Ahmed, as the winner of the governorship election held last Saturday in the state. The Returning Officer of the election in the state, Professor Musbau Akanji, while collating election results as brought by the Collating Officers from the 16 local government areas of the state said Governor Ahmed led in all the 16 local governments areas of the state. The APC candidate polled a total of 295,832 votes to defeat Senator Simeon Ajibola of the PDP who polled 115,220 votes. Dr. Mike Omotosho of Labour Party scored 2,973 votes.
