Some traditional rulers in Kwara have described the election of Sen. Bukola Saraki as President of the 8th Senate as β€œunprecedented in the political history of Kwara.”

The Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Charles Ibitoye, stated the election of Sen. Saraki was a unique turning point in the political history of the state.

He stated that β€œhaving the number three position in the country occupied by an illustrious son of Kwara and no other person than Sen. Bukola Saraki is a thing of joy to us in Kwara.

β€œIt is a legacy laid down by the late strong man of Kwara politics and former Senate Leader, the late Dr Olusola Saraki, the father of the current senate president.

β€œThis legacy was concretely built upon for years by the newly elected Senate President and APC leader in the state.

β€œI wish to thank Nigerians, especially the contributors who made it possible and urge them to keep the flag flying in the interest of the country.”

On his part, Oba Samuel Dada, the Alofa of Iloffa in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara, attributed Saraki's emergence as senate president to his exemplary political leadership style within the state and beyond.

Dada said β€œSaraki has the love and affection of the country, his party, people and supporters at heart, so his emergence as the 8th senate president is a welcome development.”

Also, Oba Daniel Dada, the Elegosi of Egosi kingdom, said β€œSaraki has the capacity and capability to ensure the desired change and transformation envisioned for the country.”

He described Saraki's election as president of the 8th senate as a result of hard work, diligence and total commitment to emancipate the state and the country from the shackles of underdevelopment.

Dada urged other senators, especially the principal officials, to close ranks in order to ensure a unified and transformed country.

β€œThis is unique in the history of the state, it is an unprecedented political development that calls for celebration,” he stated.
