Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura has ordered the prohibition of the activities of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools in the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Head of Service, Thomas Ari Ogiri.
The statement stated that the activities of ASUSS posed a serious threat to peace and order in the state.
It added that the activities of ASUSS would incite Secondary School Teachers against the state government through radio announcements, press release and bulletin.
As stated by the statement, the activities of the union also prevent workers of secondary school in the state from performing their lawful duties.
The government also claimed that ASUSS will disrupt the conduct of JAMB, NECO, and BECE (JSS 3) examinations in the state.
Furthermore, the government accused the union of driving away workers from duty post, describing it as an unregistered trade union.
