Lady Gaga has beaten Taylor Swift to get the crown as the Woman of the Year 2015 by Billboard magazine.
The honour will be given by Liz Gateley, Executive Vice President and Head of programming at Lifetime on December 11 at the Women in Music event scheduled to hold in New York City.
Liz Gateley descibed Lady Gaga as an extraordinary artist, emblematic of the strength, courage and fortitude that should be celebrated in every way she deserves.
The six-time Grammy-winning pop star and actress recently hit No. 1 on the real time ‘Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart’ with her video ‘Till It Happens to You,’ a track written for the college s3xual assault documentary ‘The Hunting Ground’, which premiered at Sundance in January and will air on CNN later this year.
The 29-year-old released a collaborative jazz album, “Cheek to Cheek,” with Tony Bennett last year which won a Grammy Award.
Gaga will be presented with the honour at a Billboard ceremony in New York in December that will be shown live on national television for the first time.
