High-end car collectors are looking for more than a fleet of exotics - and a genuine Le Mans Prototype with a pedigree behind it is very compelling.
The 908 model was presented in concept form in 2005 as the direct successor of the two-time Le Mans winning 905 model, announcing Peugeot’s return to the famous 24-hour competition after a 13-year layoff.

This particular example is chassis number 05, which took three 2nd place finishes and three pole-positions, registering four fastest laps in the process. Impressive achievements, but what’s even more impressive is that the car came 2nd overall at the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans, and took the chequered flag at the 2009 Petit Le Mans, with Franck Montagny and Stephane Sarrazin behind the wheel.

There’s no doubt the vehicle was a strong contributor to the 908’s overall record of victory, as it helped Peugeot win three team championships, three Constructors’ Championships, and two Drivers’ Championships in just four years.

Powered by a clean-emission V12, 5.5-litre, twin-turbocharged diesel engine, the car develops over 730 HP and 1,200 N·m (890 lbf·ft) of torque and it’s evaluated by RM Shotheby’s at €1.200.000 - €1.600.000 ($1,380,600 – $1,840,800).

The car won’t run without specific equipment and third-party software license, but Peugeot Sport will provide the necessary technical support for a period of two years.
