One Leicester City fan is hoping to name his baby daughter after Jamie Vardy... but only if he garners enough support online to convince his girlfriend.
The striker has taken English football by storm this season, breaking the Premier League record for consecutive scoring appearances with 11 on his way to topping the goal rankings with 19.
Now Ashley Marriott wants to commemorate the 2015-16 season, which could end with Leicester winning the Premier League, by adding 'Vardy' as a middle name.
Unfortunately for him - and perhaps fortunately for his unborn daughter - girlfriend Rebekah will only sanction said request if 5,000 people agree the idea is a go-er.
The Change.org petition was started a little over a week ago and, at the time of writing, has racked up just 161 signatures. Still, with the child due to be born in June, he has plenty of time to reach the target.
