Danny Simpson will miss Leicester City's post-season tour of Thailand after he was ordered to serve a three-week curfew following a domestic violence conviction in 2015.
The full-back, 29, must wear an electronic tag and remain at his home in Salford between 22:00 and 06:00 for the next 21 days, starting May 12.
He was due to fly out to Thailand with the club's owners on Tuesday.
Simpson was convicted of assaulting ex-girlfriend Stephanie Ward last May and was initially ordered to carry out community service.
However, after it was reported in the press that he was carrying out his community service at a bingo hall, District Judge Alexandra Simmonds changed his punishment to a curfew.
Judge Simmonds told Manchester Magistrates' Court that a fine would be "no punishment" for a man of Simpson's wealth, but that "press intrusion" had compromised his initial punishment.
Simmonds added that Simpson's sentence for assaulting Ms Ward was a "richly-deserved punishment".
His lawyer Gary Ryan said the punishment was "unfair and unjust" and that the player would miss vital work commitments, including the aforementioned tour and end-of-season functions.
