The management of Lekki Gardens has cleared the air on the casualty figure that resulted from the recent collapse of a building in one of their estates, saying that the 35 people that died during the tragedy were not on the company’s payroll.
Juliet Obiorah, who addressed journalists on the issue in Lagos said: “Those persons that died were not employees of Lekki Gardens.
‘‘The investigation showed that 35 people who lost their lives and the 13 that sustained various degrees of injuries were Beninoise who came to seek shelter in the said property during the morning rain.”
