The Bayern striker, who is currently the top scorer in Germany, is focusing on winning more trophies with the club rather than worrying about claiming the Golden Boot award
"It depends on us what we do, there's also the special situation with Pep. Furthermore, we want to go to the quarter finals in the Champions League and to reach the German Cup final."
Lewandowski is one in front of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the top of the Bundesliga scoring charts with 23 and, ahead of Saturday's meeting between Dortmund and Bayern, the 27-year-old has maintained that the success of the team remains the priority.
"No [Lewandowski hasn't been thinking about winning the Golden Boot], not at this stage of the season. I have already won it once and I don't have any pressure. Of course I know we still have lots of games to go and I want score as often as possible. If that's enough at the end of the season then that is fine.
"Forty goals in one season? That is very, very difficult. Twenty or 30 years ago it was probably slightly different. Of course the benchmark was high then as well, but 40 goals? Maybe it would be possible if we had 38 games. With 34 it is nearly impossible. Nevertheless, I will try to beat that record [set by Gerd Muller in 1972]."
