The 28-year-old stopper gets his desire to prove himself elsewhere on temporary terms in 2016-17, rather than staying on as the third-choice option at Anfield.
Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has joined Wigan on a season-long loan following the successful completion of a medical at the Championship club.
Goal first revealed the Latics' interest in securing the Hungarian on a temporary deal on June 29, with the stopper intent on proving himself elsewhere in 2016-17 rather than remaining as the third-choice option at Anfield.
He made just six appearances during his error-riddled debut campaign on Merseyside after signing as a free agent from Bolton last summer.
And with Liverpool recruiting Loris Karius to rival Simon Mignolet for a starting spot, the 28-year-old admitted he was desperate to depart in order to play regularly.
“The goal is to get loaned out. I could stay but I would need incredible luck or a lot of injuries to climb the ladder,” Bogdan told Goal Hungary.
“I can get out of this situation by performing well somewhere else. Then if life allows it, return to Liverpool. I need to go to prove my worth.
“My goal is to get a loan deal as soon as possible. There is not much point going to the USA after my last half-year, plus the new arrival of a goalkeeper shows that they don't count on me.
"I want to rebuild my good form. I want to play games weekly and get back to the national team.”
Fellow keepers Danny Ward and Ryan Fulton have exited on loan to Huddersfield and Chesterfield respectively, while Alex Manninger, 39, has been training with Liverpool with a view to securing a deal to serve as back-up to Karius and Mignolet.
