Ruben Loftus-Cheek has revealed Antonio Conte's words of wisdom as he settles into a new position in the Chelsea first team.
The youngster has been playing up front in pre-season as Chelsea's new manager trials his new system, with the England Under-21 star scoring in his team's second game.
Chelsea have undergone their first training sessions in Los Angeles ahead of their opening game in the International Champions Cup against Premier League rivals Liverpool on July 27.
Loftus-Cheek is likely to feature, as he has in both of his club's pre-season games to date, and revealed the advice that the former Italy coach has been giving him.
“He is always trying to help you learn, doing video analysis,” Loftus-Cheek told Goal.
“He tries to help you see even little details, about your body position.”
“He is always trying to help you learn whether you are alone as a player or with us [as a group] that’s one thing that I have really noticed and like about him."
The 46-year-old boss has been giving his players double training sessions every day to improve his team's fitness and tactical awareness in the unorthodox system, but Loftus-Cheek insists that he is enjoying the workload.
“We’ve got a different formation and we are working really hard at it, every day, double sessions, to try and get it into our heads.” Lotus-Cheek added.
“The way we want to play and try to get used to all the movement and just try to be on the same wavelength, all of us on the pitch. So that’s the aim at the moment, but I am really enjoying working with the new boss and staff, it is exciting.
“It is good to see the manager that has that much passion on the sideline and I think he gives the players a boost then we all want to do well.”
Antonio Conte is Loftus-Cheek’s third manager after he made his debut under Jose Mourinho against Sporting in 2014 and earned more regular playing time under Guus Hiddink last season.
The youngster played in 16 games in all competitions last season and feels the change of boss is an opportunity for him to learn new ideas.
“It is good for me to see different managers, I have been at Chelsea and there have already been three managers, so it is good for me to learn and experience different managers, the way they work and, for me, I am in a great position to be working with Conte. I am really excited," he said.
Chelsea will also face Real Madrid in Ann Arbor on July 30 and then face AC Milan on August 3 in Minneapolis before completing their pre-season preparations against Werder Bremen in Germany.
