Sevilla are making good progress in their bid to land Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez with both clubs close to reaching an agreement over a transfer.
Perez, 27, is a man in demand after scoring 17 goals and registering eight assists in 35 La Liga appearances to help Deportivo maintain their top-flight status in Spain.
Sevilla are looking to add depth to their strikeforce ahead of the new season and have identified Perez as a target, though there is still work to be done between themselves and Deportivo.
Perez currently has a release clause worth €20m but Sevilla are hoping to whittle Deportivo down into accepting slightly less for the ex-Rayo Vallecano man.
Deportivo, on the flip side, would also prefer to reduce the €20m outlay by receiving €17m alongside Sevilla duo Antonio Cotan and Juan Munoz, Goal understands.
If Munoz, 20, opts against moving to Deportivo, Perez could still join Sevilla but the transfer fee would rise to €18m with Cotan still going the other way.
Sevilla, however, are in no rush to push through a move for Perez as manager Unai Emery is keen to try and get Ciro Immobile and Fernando Llorente off the club's books first.
Perez has recently been linked with Arsenal but the Gunners are looking elsewhere after triggering Leicester City hitman Jamie Vardy's release clause, Goal can confirm. - Goal
