Previous Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has been removed from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, the party he co-founded in 2016, after refusing to support the government led by the party's president Muhyiddin Yassin.
Tun Dr Mahathir has sought a no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Muhyiddin.
