Senator Ahmed Makarfi
Former governor of Kaduna state Senator Ahmed Makarfi on Tuesday condemned the killing of dozens of residents by suspected herdsmen in Jos, Plateau state on Monday.
The former Senator, who spoke by his spokesman, Mukhtar Sirajo, in Kaduna mentioned the killings have been unlucky, pointless and condemnable.
He mentioned killing below any guise can't be justified and urged all events to hunt for a civilized method to redress their grievances.
Makarfi urged aggrieved events to at all times discover dialogue with each other by fixed and steady constructive engagement, Makarfi insisted that the resort to violence was alien to Nigerians.
He mentioned, “the artificial divisions that are threatening our fabric are alien to us as a people and it is in our enlightened collective interest to throw away the yolk, embrace one another and deploy that diversity with which God has endowed us for the overall development of all of us, so that we bequeath a legacy of unity in diversity for this and upcoming generations.”
While condoling with households of those that misplaced their beloved ones within the mayhem, Makarfi prayed “for the repose of the dead and speedy recovery for the injured.”
