Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, on Monday, introduced that she would contest the 2019 governorship election in Taraba State.
Speaking to newsmen on the APC’s National Secretariat in Abuja, The minister vowed to contest regardless of the challenges she had in 2015 when she was party’s candidate.
Alhassan stated: “I gained the 2015 election; everybody is aware of that, together with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and I'll re-contest within the election in 2019 if God retains me alive and effectively.
“It is God that offers energy to whoever he needs. I gained the election in 2015, however God didn't give me energy.
“I will keep trusting in Him and the grassroots people of Taraba, and God willing, I will win the election this time.”
Alhassan, popularly often called Mama Taraba, additionally debunked insinuations that the APC in Taraba was factionalised.
The minister urged members of the general public to discountece the hearsay.
She stated: “I've a proper to decide on who turns into chairman of the party within the state; there is no such thing as a faction in Taraba.
“We are very much together; there is no love lost in the state; we were never divided. It was all about political interest.”
