Manchester City have signed a new highly-rated 18-year-old, but the player will never kick a ball for the Premier League giants.
Kieran Brown has been hired as the club's first e-sports player and will represent the club at tournaments, playing the video game Fifa.
City are not the first club to sign someone to play video games, with West Ham bringing in their first e-sports representative, while Wolfsburg also hired an Englishman to play the game for them.
"It's exciting, it's something new for the club and it's something new for me," Brown said of the deal.
"I'm going to live stream on Twitch, I'm going to be making videos for Manchester City's YouTube channel and I'm going to be playing some City fans and representing City in future tournaments, which I'm looking forward to."
Manchester City's £43m Bonucci bid rejected
And City are delighted to take advantage of the extra exposure at the tournaments around the world that Brown will feature in.
"As e-sports continues to gain momentum, it makes sense for our club to be part of the action and get closer to our fans, who love playing EA Sports Fifa as Manchester City," said Diego Gigliani, vice-president of media and innovation at Manchester City.
"We will be a bigger presence at gaming tournaments, we will have more content through our digital channels and we will activate even more with our fans at matches and club events."
