The Frenchman halted his match preparations shortly after emerging on the Carrow Road pitch and was soon seen heading towards the tunnel. It was then confirmed that Ander Herrera would be taking his place in the United starting XI, with captain Wayne Rooney moving into the forward line.
It is the second time that Martial has been forced to forego a fixture this season as a result of a warm-up injury. He previously picked up a hamstring injury ahead of the Europa League home match against FC Midtjylland, alloqwing teen sensation Marcus Rashford to step up for his Manchester United debut.
Martial is United's top scorer this season, with 15 goals in his 45 appearances in all competitions. - Goal
