Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State on Monday called on the people of the state to exercise patience with the ongoing change agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari in the country.

He made the call when he launched small-scale businesses empowerment and free treatment schemes initiated by Sen. Abu Ibrahim (APC-Katsina).

The NAN reports that other House of Representatives and State House of Assembly members from Katsina South senatorial zone were also initiators of the scheme.

The governor assured the people that the APC-led government in the country would execute viable developmental projects that would uplift peoples’ well being at all levels.

He explained that the change being pursued by the APC administration was trying to right the wrongs of many years.

Masari further enjoined Nigerians to pray for the success of the APC administration.

He commended the efforts of the lawmakers and reiterated the state government’s commitment to join hands with federal and state lawmakers in providing desirable projects across the state.

In his speech, Sen.Ibrahim stated he selected at least 15 persons from 217 polling units in the zone to benefit from the skill empowerment training on small scale business.

He stated that he also empowered the beneficiaries of the various schemes with N10, 000 each as capital for them to embark on viable business for self reliance.

Ibrahim stated he also provided motorised ploughs to farmers in the zone in recognition of the fact that they had suffered loss of animals due to cow rustling.

The senator further stated he embarked on free eye treatment of at least 100 persons in each of the 11 local government areas besides the free drugs distribution scheme.

As stated by him, the project is a joint initiative between him and his Funtua/Dandume federal lawmaker and state house of assembly members for Funtua and Dandume local government areas.

Ibrahimm, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs, stated police barracks would be constructed in six local government areas in the senatorial zone to enhance security.

In his remark, Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala, the member representing Musawa/Matazu in the House of Representatives stated he provided 13 motorcycles for men and 60 sewing machines for women in his constituency.

The Katsina State APC Chairman, Alhaji Shitu Shitu, stated the empowerment and free treatment schemes were meant to enhance the peoples’ economic and health conditions.

He enjoined the beneficiaries to ensure productive use of the items.

The Speaker, State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aliyu Muduru and the Secretary, Katsina State Government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, among others, attended the occasion.
