The previous Gunners defender believes the club are in need of added firepower this summer and has offered up three suggestions to help fill the void
Arsenal should be looking to bring in the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema this summer, according to Sol Campbell.
The Gunners will be expected to enter the market when the transfer window re-opens, however, it remains to be seen who they target and who is overseeing the business.
Arsene Wenger is yet to extend a contract that is due to expire at the end of the season, adding further uncertainty to the direction in which the club are heading.
Alexis slams Wenger protests
Campbell, though, believes that added firepower should be a priority for whoever is at the helm and feels leading lights at Atletico Madrid, Monaco and Real Madrid need to be among those on the radar.
The previous Arsenal defender told BetStars on a France international that has long been linked with a move to the Premier League: βThere's been talk of Benzema to Arsenal for a while. The manager, Arsene, knows him pretty well. I think he would definitely make a fantastic addition.
βHis movement, his strength, his experience in big games for European and domestic would be vital for them. I think they need someone who's got a bit of nous and scoring prowess in front of goal.β
He added on Benzemaβs fellow countryman: βUp front, Griezmann is definitely someone who could make a huge difference with his scoring prowess and his movement. He's done fantastic for his country and nearly won the European Championship.
βI think the big price-tag might be a hurdle, however, if he [Wenger] can sell a couple of players and push the boat out to Β£85million, he'll definitely make a huge difference.β
Finally, Campbell said of a teenage sensation currently attracting plenty of admiring glances: βAnd also going back up-front, I think the new guy on the block in Monaco, Kylian Mbappe. Bags of confidence, he reminds meβ¦ he could even be the next [Thierry] Henry.
Cech: Europa not so bad for Arsenal
βOK, he has got a long way to go for that however, he's showing potential that maybe if you wait two, three years he might cost just a bit too much as time goes on.
βSo for me, the art of deal-making in players is catch them young and have that nous to think this guy is going to be the next best thing. You wait too long and it's costing too much money.β
Arsenalβs ability to attract players of that calibre is likely to rest on their continued participation in the Champions League, with Wengerβs side sat fifth in the Premier League table at present β one point behind Liverpool heading into the final round of fixtures.
