McLaren Special Operations is offering one of the very last examples produced of the legendary F1 for sale. The numbers donβt lie: McLaren has built only 106 F1s, 64 of them being the original cars intended for use on the roads, making this a very rare and unique opportunity for someone with really deep pockets to get the default supercar.
Chassis no.069 has less than 2,800 miles on the clocks and is all original condition, down to the correct numbered McLaren F1 book and limited edition ownerβs watch. Painted in Carbon Black, with matching magnesium wheels, this 1998 example is not only one of the latest F1s out there but is also one of the only six cars produced by McLaren this year.
The cabin is finished in black, with contrasting red leather for the driverβs seat and the dual passengers seats dressed in Alcantara. Nerdy details include a fitted luggage, the complete set of the Falcon titanium tool kit and tool box and the aforementioned book and limited edition watch.
Powered by BMWβs 6.1-litre V12 engine nested in an engine bay lined with gold, the McLaren F1 offers 627hp in the worldβs first road car to feature a full carbon chassis. To this day it remains the worldβs fastest naturally-aspirated production car, after setting a top speed of 390.7km/h (242mph).
As for the price, McLaren didnβt announce any numbers but considering Rowan Atkinsonβs F1 fetched $12,3 million last year, this is going to easily ask for more than $10 million. And itβs worth it.
