Arsenal great Paul Merson says he would like to see Ronald Koeman take over from Arsene Wenger when the Frenchman eventually decides to move on.
Wenger has shown no signs of giving up his post just yet, despite another season without a credible Premier League challenge and another Champions League last-16 exit.
Koeman, on the other hand, has impressed at Southampton, despite losing several key stars over the course of his two years at St. Mary's.
Players such as Luke Shaw, Morgan Schneiderlin and Nathaniel Clyne have been sold but Koeman has recruited well in their absence as Southampton go in search of bettering last season's seventh-placed finish, sitting just three points off fifth with two games to go until the end of the current campaign.
And Merson believes the Dutchman - who has also coached the likes of Ajax, Benfica, Valencia and Feyenoord - is a suitable replacement for Wenger.
"I think Southampton are a decent team, and Tottenham may just have a hangover," Merson wrote on Sky Sports ahead of Southampton's trip to Tottenham on Sunday.
"Ronald Koeman has done a brilliant job at Southampton, and I'd like to see him at Arsenal if I'm honest.
"He's a top, top manager."
