Reduced to ten men, Wenger's decision to hook Olivier Giroud for a defender has not gone down well
Per Mertesacker has been sent off in Arsenal's crunch clash with Chelsea, with Gabriel Paulista replacing Olivier Giroud following the incident.
Mertesacker was shown a straight red after scything down Diego Costa in the 18th minute, who was sent clear by Willian's through-ball.
Arsene Wenger then opted to bring on Gabriel to shore things up at the back, but the decision to take off Giroud did not go well with the fans who booed loudly as the Frenchman left the pitch.
Just minutes after the incident, Branislav Ivanovic's cross was met by Diego Costa at the front post, who finished first time to open the scoring in what has already been a hugely exciting clash.
