MIAMI -- The banged-up Mets apparently received another bitter dose of injury news, when slugger Yoenis Cespedes was scratched just before Saturday’s game against the Marlins.

Cespedes is day-to-day with a sore right hip, the Mets announced.

Michael Conforto, who had initially been benched against Marlins lefty Justin Nicolino, took Cespedes’ place in the lineup.

Cespedes was a notable absence during the team’s pregame stretching at Marlins Park. The slugger has been a catalyst on a team that can’t afford another loss to injury, with David Wright, Travis d’Araud and Lucas Duda already on the shelf.

Cespedes is hitting .278 with 15 homers and 37 RBIs.
