The Federal High Court, Abuja, has summoned the General Manager of Channels TV and an anchor of the station’s breakfast programme Sunrise Daily Maupe Ogun-Yusuf to appear in court on 25 May, 2018.

They are to appear and show cause why an order should not be made to force them to produce the tape of a programme aired on 22 May where prejudicial comments were made.

Justice Okon Abang gave this order on the back of an oral application by counsel to the federal government, Sylvanus Tahir, in the ongoing trial of former spokesman of the PDP Olisa Metuh.

Metuh is facing trial for alleged diversion of N400 million received from the office of former National Security Adviser Col. Sambo Dasuki.

Tahir had, on Monday, told the court that a counsel on Metuh’s legal team Ben Chuks Nwosu, who featured in the programme on Tuesday, allegedly made some prejudicial comments that border on Metuh’s case before the court.

Justice Abang then stated that enrol order be served personally on the Channels TV’s GM and the anchor before the close of work on Wednesday.

Where personal service became difficult, the court held that the enrol order can be pasted on the gate or entrance to the station.
