LONDON — Roger Federer lost in the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time in his career, falling to Milos Raonic 6-3, 6-7 (3), 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 on Centre Court.
The seven-time champion from Switzerland had a break point late in the fourth set that would have allowed him to serve for the match. Instead, Raonic held and later broke Federer in the final game of the set.
Raonic, seeded sixth and the first Canadian man to ever reach a major final, will face either Andy Murray or Tomas Berdych on Sunday.
The 34-year-old Federer had been 10-0 in Wimbledon semifinals, winning seven of his finals.
