Mimiko Appoints Agric Commissioner, Lasisi Oluboyo As New Deputy Gov

Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture, Lasisi Oluboyo, has been nominated by the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, as the new deputy governor following the impeachment of Ondo State deputy governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi this morning. This development was disclosed in a letter written by the Governor to the House of Assembly, nominating him to replace the impeached deputy governor Alhaji Ali Olanusi. At the moment, the State House of Assembly is sitting to approve the nominee. The Assembly had last Tuesday (April 22) served an impeachment notice on Mr. Olanusi. The Assembly, in the notices signed by 20 of its 26 members, accused the deputy governor of alleged gross misconduct. Some of the allegations levelled against him include financial misappropriation, absenteeism from official duties and causing disaffection in the state cabinet. Olanusi incurred the wrath of Governor Olusegun Mimiko when he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress shortly before the elections.
