It's fair to say Alan Pardew is a decisive figure. For every fine season he enjoys as a manager it seems there is a disaster around almost every corner, and his tenure at Crystal Palace was no different.
The former Southampton boss was relieved of his duties at Selhurst Park on Thursday after overseeing a calendar year in which the Eagles have won just six Premier League matches.
And though no one likes to see a man lose his job, supporters of Palace, Newcastle and the wider footballing family wasted little time in finding humour in Pardew's demise.
