The 33-year-old Northern Irishman made a crucial contribution to his side's 1-1 draw against Portsmouth on Tuesday
Barry Roche was the hero for Morecambe in their League Two clash with Portsmouth on Tuesday. However, it was in the opposition box where he made his presence count!
The 33-year-old goalkeeper arrived in the Portsmouth box in the fourth minute of added time to thunder a header past his opposition number, granting his side a crucial point in the process.
Roche's goal halted Morecambe's three-game losing streak and sees them move up to 14th in League Two.
"It's an absolutely unbelievable feeling," Roche told The Visitor after the game. "It’s better than a top corner save, a penalty save, if I could bottle that feeling I certainly would.
"It’s the least we deserved because in difficult conditions, especially in the second half, I thought we were outstanding."
Roche, a former Republic of Ireland youth international, can now add his name to a list which includes luminaries such as Peter Schmeichel, Jose Chilavert and Rogerio Ceni.
