The CEO of MTN Group, Sifiso Dabengwa, is expected to resign over the recent $5.4billion fine placed on the telecommunication company by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NNC) for failing to disconnect customers' unregistered SIM cards.
MTN in a statement today, stated that Dabengwa will resign immediately and will be replaced by non-executive chairman, Phuthuma Nhlekoas, even as the company continues to dialogue with the Nigerian government over the fine.
