President Muhammadu Buhari has stated his administration has made some progress within the nation’s safety sector regardless of the challenges.
Buhari stated this on Tuesday in Jos at an interactive session with stakeholders in Plateau State within the aftermath of current killings in some communities.
Buhari additionally directed safety chiefs to stay vigilant and guarantee safety of lives and property within the nation.
“I will not stop to pressurise members of the law enforcement agencies directly under me by the Constitution as the Commander-in Chief,” he stated.
“About eight days in the past, we had 5 hours safety assembly of the service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police.
“What occurred right here in Jos could be very dangerous. The query of management, out of your family to no matter you're, is justice. The backside line is justice.
“That is why wherever I am going, I'll all the time enchantment to the management of the communities, the legislation enforcement companies to all the time have management of their constituencies.”
He also stated that, “Whatever is being given to the media, we've got to be very accountable about it.
“Take for example the scenario in Benue. The Benue subsistence farmer is aware of that the Nigerian cattle herder that he is aware of doesn’t carry nothing greater than a stick, often generally one thing to chop grass to feed his cattle.
“But the current herder, I'm informed, carries AK47 and persons are even blaming me for not speaking to them as a result of possibly (they are saying) I seem like one in all them.
“There is some injustice in these aspersions. It is noteworthy that many Nigerians still acknowledge that despite the security challenges, this administration has made notable successes in the security sector.”
