The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State through the Sylva/Igiri Campaign Organization, has accused the the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Bayelsa state government of sourcing for two fresh loans of N12.5 billion through the state’s House of Assembly, to prosecute the December 5 governorship poll. However, the state government has dismissed the allegation.
Director of Media and Publicity of the Sylva/ Igiri Campaign Organization, Nathan Egba, in a statement, said information available to the APC in Bayelsa State indicated that the leadership of the House of Assembly are allegedly trying to persuade members to sign the document for the two loans.
In aa swiift reaction, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson disclosed that rather than looking for a new loan, the government was only drawing from an existing loan facility that had since been approved for the airport project which it said was at 60 per cent level of completion.
