Netta Barzilai, Israel’s beloved, looper-playing winner of the 2018 Eurovision, will be in Jerusalem in June to perform live at the 2018 Israel WeWork Creator Awards.
Barzilai will open for singer Aviv Geffen & The Mistakes at the June 20 event held at Jerusalem’s Pais Arena.
WeWork, an initiative founded in 2010 by two entrepreneurs, one of whom is Israeli-American, has set up networking office spaces, community and services in 250 locations, 74 cities and 22 countries and has given away more than $16 million in Creator Awards since launching the program, which recognizes and rewards creators of all kinds.
The company, which reached a $20 billion valuation by investors last year, is leading the global co-working space market.
The first Israel Creator Awards were held in Tel Aviv last October, where winners were awarded $1.4 million. The awards are open to We Work members as well as companies outside the network, and applicants can submit for one of four categories: performing arts, community initiatives, nonprofit organizations and business ventures.
In addition to Tel Aviv, Creator Awards regional events have been held in Washington, DC; Detroit, Michigan; Austin, Texas; London; Berlin; and New York City. In 2018, Creator Awards events are scheduled to take place in Mexico City, Shanghai, San Francisco, São Paulo, Seoul, London, Berlin, Nashville, and Jerusalem.

“Israel is a constant source of inspiration, talent and growth for our company,” said Adam Neumann, CEO and co-founder of WeWork. “As we prepare to open our first WeWork location in Jerusalem later this year, we want to infuse the Creator Awards with the city’s unique spirit and energy: it’s the perfect place to invite creators from all backgrounds, all industries, and all walks of life to come together to celebrate innovation and new ideas.”
The finalists at the Israel WeWork Creator Awards on June 20 will pitch their initiatives in front of a panel of judges at the Jerusalem event, and the winners will be announced during the second half of the evening.
Barzilai’s performance, followed by Aviv Geffen, will take place as part of the celebration.
