After a decade in the market, GMC will finally present a replacement to the aging Acadia crossover at the Detroit Motor Show on January 11.

The teaser over at GMC’s Facebook page doesn’t reveal much on the all-new 2017 Acadia, but previous spy shots suggest that it will modernize some of the current model’s key exterior design traits such as the flared fenders and upright grille, while bringing a brand new interior with a de-cluttered dashboard.

It will be built on a version of GM’s modular C1XX platform that’s also used on the new Cadillac XT5, with some sources saying that it will be slightly smaller than today’s car, while maintaining a three-row seating layout.

Even though GMC might surprise us with a small displacement turbocharged base engine down the line, the 2017 Acadia will likely enter the market in the summer with the newest version of GM’s 3.6-liter V6, possibly paired to an 8-speed automatic.
