Right hand drive (RHD) versions of Audi's all-new A4 Allroad will soon become available in the UK, initially in conjunction with the 252 PS 2liter TFSI engine.

Orders are expected to start in April, when three TDI versions will also become available. As for pricing and specs, we'll need to wait another month for those, but as of right now, Audi are keeping the spotlight on the TFSI power unit, the first to adopt quattro with ultra technology.

The system works by deactivating all-wheel drive when it's not needed, but also makes sure that it stays permanently and instantaneously available to the driver.

By doing so, Audi are also trimming CO2 emissions and increasing overall MPG figures.

Speaking of which, the estimated average fuel consumption for the 2.0 TFSI S tronic A4 Allroad sits at around 44.1 MPG UK (6.4l/100km) - which is by no means terrible considering the 252 PS and the 6.1 second 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time.

However, customers should probably turn towards diesel-powered versions if they're in need of even greater fuel efficiency. The 190 PS 2.0 TDI unit with its average consumption of 57.6 MPG UK (4.9l/100km) should prove particularly popular.
