With the GLC Coupe's world debut approaching, as it's rumored for the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March, Mercedes-Benz took another prototype of its upcoming sports crossover to the streets.

Position straightly against the BMW X4, the coupe-inspired SUV gains a fastback-style body along with tweaked front and rear ends, compared to the regular GLC, however, this is where most differences stop, as everything else will be shared between both models, from the platform and the engines to the interior and the tech.

The engine lineup used on the renamed GLK's successor will find its way on the new GLC Coupe too, including four-cylinder turbo petrol and diesel units, with the 2.0-liter gasoline producing 241hp (244PS) and 273lb-ft (370Nm), connected to a 9-speed auto.

Another version that might be in the cards is a plug-in hybrid, which might be joined by a sportier GLC Coupe 450 AMG taking its power from a bi-turbo 3.0-liter V6 from the C-Class, along with a hydrogen-powered variant, rumored to join the lineup next year.
