There is a case of a newborn baby who went missing few moments after delivery at a maternity clinic in Kogi State.
The baby was born on Sunday in Peniel Maternity and Clinic popularly known as Mummy’s hospital, in Anyigba, Dekina LGA, Kogi State.
A relative of the missing child’s father, identified only as Fitumi, revealed that the baby was kept under the care of the nurse on duty.
Upon interrogation, the nurse on duty couldn’t give account of the child’s disappearance and was then taken to Ayingba Police station for investigation.
The newborn’s mother, Joy Idah Mudi stated that due to lack of organization of the clinic, she was not allowed to see her child before the baby went missing.
Mudi said she was separated from the baby and was later informed that she was missing.
As soon as members of the community got wind of the shocking news, they gathered at Ayingba Police station to protest in support of the mother.
They all called for the transfer of the maternity nurse to the vigilante officials for torturing.
