Nice and Rennes will kick off the new Ligue 1 campaign with a tribute to the victims of the Bastille Day terrorist attacks by wearing special jerseys displaying the name of all those who died in the tragedy.
A total of 85 people diedΒ and over 300 more were injured when a truck was driven through a crowd of people celebrating the national holiday in Nice, which ended when the culprit,Β Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, was shot and killed by police.
Nice and Rennes open the new season at the former'sΒ Allianz Riviera stadium on Sunday, exactly one month after the attacks.

The home side revealed that their players will wear a shirt without a sponsor on the front, as it will be replaced by a love heart, which will be made up of the names of the victims of the attack.
"Eighty fiveΒ names arranged in a heart, in memory of the 85 people who fell on July 14 atΒ the Promenade des Anglais," a statement read.Β "Eighty fiveΒ names in the middle of the white jersey,Β devoid of any sponsor that the players will wear in the gameΒ againstΒ Rennes.
"On Sunday, the Allianz Riviera is preparing to commemorate the victims of barbarism.

"Remember, these unique jerseys will soon be auctioned and the money raised will beΒ donated to victims' associations."
Rennes have subsequently followed suit, wearing a shirt with the same design, which they unveiled with Nice-born player Andre Benjamin modelling it.
Nice have invited fans of both sides to attend the game in white as an act of solidarity for all those who perished in the attacks. Both sides' jerseys will be auctioned off after the game.
