The Senior Special Assistant to the President, Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Eg has come out to say that the current agitations for regional security outfits will threaten the survival of Nigeria.
Senator Ita warned anyone planning for regional security network to be watchful since their actions and reactions might impact national integration.
According to him, no successful national elections can be achieved under regional-based security outfits.
He added that Nigeria needs to embrace the voice of conciliation and togetherness, not the voice of disintegration.
His words, “Let us not seek for individual or regional based security outfit because if we start there will never be any successful national election as each State or Region will want to use its own security outfit to enforce election”.
“It appears as if the voice of disintegration and voice that seem to suggest we go our different ways are louder and is nearly submerging the voice of conciliation and togetherness.”
“The Federal government also has the responsibility to monitor the borders and improved migration management.”
