All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Ward Six (Umagbae South), Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State have denied allegations of anti-party activity against a former Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon Samson Osagie.
They said no committee was set up to try Osagie for any offence.
Speaking at a press briefing, the Chairman of APC in Umagbae South, Mr. Godwin Obamwonyi, said they were disturbed that party leaders who should seek peace and broker reconciliation were fueling crisis in Uhunmwode.
Obamwonyi said Osagie has always provided leadership that gave the APC victory in the area.
He said: “After the election, there was no allegations of anti-party activities against Hon Osagie and no committee was set up to investigate anybody.
“We stand by Hon Osagie in the ward and other respectable leaders of Uhunmwode who are being oppressed by the state leadership of the party.”
