The 28-year-old midfielder is enjoying playing alongside the French attacker and believes Payet's form is "special" after he netted another wonderful strike

West Ham's Mark Noble was cautious in his praise for Dimitri Payet following his stunning goal against Manchester United on Sunday, claiming he was afraid to "jinx" his form.

Payet netted the game's opener with a 35-yard free-kick in their FA Cup quarter-final encounter at Old Trafford, before Anthony Martial forced a replay with his 83rd minute equaliser.

The Hammers playmaker has produced several extraordinary individual performances in his debut campaign in England and midfield partner Noble is enjoying his team-mate's remarkable form.

"Coming to Old Trafford and playing like we did, especially first half really took the game to them and we probably should have been 2-0 up after 20 minutes – we missed some great chances," the 28-year-old captain said.

“We got a fantastic goal from Dimitri, another very special free-kick – we will take a lot of confidence from that and now we have them at Upton Park which will be another very special occasion.

“I’m not going to jinx him and say too much about him because I want him to keep scoring but what he is doing at the minute is special.

“I’m a bit disappointed because I felt as though we should have come away with a win and it will be a very tough game at Upton Park.”

The replay tie date cannot be confirmed presently with United's future in the Europa League yet to be decided.
