President Buhari has stated that the Central Bank of Nigeria should not offer foreign exchange to anyone importing food or fertilizer into the country.
He made this statement in a recent tweet on his Instagram page where he vowed that the country will not pay a kobo of foreign reserves to import food or fertilizers.
He wrote;
I'm restating it that nobody importing food or fertilizer should be given foreign exchange from the Central Bank. We will not pay a kobo of our foreign reserves to import food or fertilizer. We will instead empower local farmers and producers.
