The winger was stretchered off during West Brom's win over Crystal Palace with a knee injury and will play no part in Michael O'Neil's side's first major tournament in 30 years
Northern Ireland's Chris Brunt is set to be ruled out of this summer's European Championships with a knee injury, according to West Brom team-mate Jonas Olsson.
The winger was stretchered off during the Baggies's 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace and has been sent for scans in a bid to learn the extent of the injury.
Reports suggest Brunt - who has earned 54 caps for his country - has suffered ligament damage, and Olsson confirmed that the 31-year-old will miss the tournament in France.
"It is a shattered dream for him not to be able to represent his country in the Euros," he told reporters. "You feel for him as a team-mate and as a friend.
"I have been playing with him for eight years. It is the first summer really when he was looking forward to something else other than a vacation.
"I just hope he gets back fit and maybe he is there for the next championship [the 2018 World Cup in Russia]. Hopefully there is more to come from him."
Brunt played a key role in Michael O'Neil's side's qualification for a first major tournament in 30 years having started eight of their ten qualifying matches in Group F.
