The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Wednesday condemned the robbery attack on the corps members serving in the riverine Tamigbe community of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta.
In a statement, the NYSC Coordinator in Delta State, Benjamin Omotade, stated that the members lost their personal effects during the incident.
Omotade, who visited the corps members’ lodge in the community to assess the extent of the damage from the attack, urged the community leaders to “rally round and fish out the perpetrators behind the robbery incident.”
He called on the people to show kindness to the corps members, who according to him, should be regarded as indigenes, by virtue of their service in the riverine community.
Responding on behalf of the community, Pelle Zentus, Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, an indigene, pledged the people’s readiness to address the challenges.
Zentus also condemned the attack, describing the perpetrators as miscreants.
