Sergi Canos has completed his £2.5 million switch from Liverpool to Norwich City on a four-year deal.
The 19-year-old, who made his Reds debut in 1-1 draw at West Brom in the club’s final Premier League game of last season, also has the option of an extra 12 months with the Championship side.
Liverpool are expected to pocket £4.5m inclusive of extras for the Spaniard, signed in 2013 after he was released from Barcelona’s academy. The Merseysiders have also negotiated buy-back and sell-on clauses as part of the agreement.
Norwich matched Bristol City’s bid for Canos, and despite a raft of interest from other clubs, the attacking player decided Carrow Road would be the best destination to continue his development.
The Reds had attempted to keep the starlet at Anfield, and opened contract talks with him this summer, but Canos wage demands of £10,000 a week greatly exceeded Liverpool’s offer.
The La Masia product enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Brentford last season, where he netted seven league goals and recorded five assists in 38 appearances.
