Former Super Eagles captain Jay Jay Okocha has thrown a shade at Africans leaders, without mentioning names, by insinuating that they are too old to lead.
Okocha, who was among the Super Sports analysts for the recently concluded Fifa world cup in Russia, made a questionable remark about the “President we are used to” while commending the Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitaroviç, 50, and French President Emmanuel Macron, 40, specifically for being young.
“It is always good to see females interested in football and she is not a bad looking President. Back home here we are used to old President that never wants to go away,” he said.
“So, it’s good to see even the French President, very young man, a bright man who was always there.”
He emphatically stated that “We are used to old Presidents that never want to go away.”
