Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has come out to confirm the first case of coronavirus in his state.
He revealed that the patient is in a stable condition and Ondo is working with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control to locate contacts of the infected person.
According to him, the infected person is currently under isolation and will be monitored as the days progress.
He added that everyone should remain calm in Ondo State amid the coronavirus outbreak because the government is on top of the situation.
His words, βWe've just received confirmation of our first positive #COVIDγΌ19 case in Ondo State this evening.
βThe infected person is currently under isolation and will be monitored. We've activated all necessary protocol to locate all contacts and will be working closely with @NCDCgov.
βThe infected is in very stable condition and we ask for calm from all in Ondo State. We're on top of this and ask that our citizens continue to follow all preventive measures to ensure they remain safe.β
