Civil servants in Ondo State will be paid their two-month salary arrears on Tuesday.
The state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, in a statement after the state’s Executive Council Meeting today, said the state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, had directed that the two-month outstanding salaries be paid on Tuesday as agreed by the state executive council.
He said the meeting deliberated widely on the recent workers verification exercise.
The commissioner added that Mimiko expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the exercise, especially the savings government was able to make through the blocking of loopholes exploited by some unscrupulous individuals to channel funds to ghost workers.
“The governor also mentioned that officials identified to be involved in manipulations discovered in the payment vouchers of workers in the state will also face the full wrath of the law,” the statement stated.
