The death toll of the fire tragedy that struck the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra, on Sunday, has risen to 70.
The vice chairman of the Red Cross Society of Nigeria in Anambra State, Prof. Peter Katchy, said one of the drivers who was taken to hospital on Sunday after the incident had died, bringing the death toll to 70.
Katchy stated.57 bodies that were taken to the hospital had been identified, while 13 were yet to be identified.
The vice chairman of the Onitsha Newspaper Distribution, Directors Association (ONDDA), Mr. Emmanuel Uwakwe, stated the fire tragedy killed four members of the Association.
